Galithor!

by Galithor on May 6th, 2010

Some of you may notice that since the first go round, Gali has trimmed the full goatee into a ‘Stache. He’s also unfortunately gone balding, but wears a hood to hide this fact.

He's after your woman.

Hide your women, Gali is in town.

Star Trek Online Demo

New to Star Trek Online? Considering making a purchase? We’re so sure you’ll love the game, we want to give you the chance to play it for free. Visit our demo page (coming soon) to learn how to create a Cryptic account and begin playing Star Trek Online.

I guess I don’t understand the Free Trial “Weekend” as opposed to the Online Demo. Aren’t they both free? Or do they only let you play the demo on the free trial weekend lol. I know, just making fun of it, I’m sure the demo is just a single player type game to introduce you to it and it’s not really ‘online’… just doesn’t make sense to me to have two separate trial/demo. Just make a damn 7 day trial like most other MMO’s but they probably can’t afford the added bandwidth. Maybe that’s it, their short on funds! ;)

The Chronicles of Spellborn

by Jharii on April 27th, 2009

The Chronicles of Spellborn was officially released in the US last week, offering a free client download and a 2 week free premium trial period, ending on May 7th.  Good timing, I suppose, as I was looking for something to try over the weekend.  So I downloaded the 3+gb client with an open mind and little expectations.  The client downloaded rather quickly and installed without issue.  A small patch ensued upon my initial connection, per any MMO.

A Shardship in the Distance

When I finally logged into the game, I must say I was very surprised at what I found.  If any of you are familiar with Weis and Hickman’s Death Gate Cycle book series, you will feel that it heavily influenced this game’s design.  And it was done beautifully.

Revitalizing a dying MMO

by Shals on January 23rd, 2009

So today I received an email with the following subject line, “Don’t get left out in the cold, Vanguard is heating up! Check it out!”. In my opinion, after going from 16 servers to 4 (or whatever it was), they should just let the flame go out and retire one of the most pathetic MMO’s ever released.

Estiah Browser Game

by Shals on January 12th, 2009

For the past couple of months I have been playing numerous multi-player browser games and kept promising the PPF Members here that I’d write up some blog reviews on them. Of the 15 or so games I found I’m really only playing a couple now and the best one, in my opinion, is Estiah.

This game has it all. It begins with an exceptional, clean, user interface that offers easy navigation with a Tutorial link in the top right corner of every section. For those that enjoy a good story, I’m not one but from the few I’ve read they are very well written. The daily activities can include gathering materials to build guild buildings or selling them for a profit, dungeon crawling with a unique story line for the 20+ dungeons, entering an Arena to fight NPC monsters, finding and taming a pet to race or fight against other player pets and, of course, Player vs. Player action. And if that’s not enough there’s literally a skill for every single activity broken down into five (from what I’ve found so far) categories: Trade Skills, Renown, Battle, Evolution and Class.
