The Chronicles of Spellborn
by Jharii on April 27th, 2009The Chronicles of Spellborn was officially released in the US last week, offering a free client download and a 2 week free premium trial period, ending on May 7th. Good timing, I suppose, as I was looking for something to try over the weekend. So I downloaded the 3+gb client with an open mind and little expectations. The client downloaded rather quickly and installed without issue. A small patch ensued upon my initial connection, per any MMO.
A Shardship in the Distance
When I finally logged into the game, I must say I was very surprised at what I found. If any of you are familiar with Weis and Hickman’s Death Gate Cycle book series, you will feel that it heavily influenced this game’s design. And it was done beautifully.
