A Story of Revenge

by Shals on October 9th, 2008

One thing I have been surprised with is the level of maturity in this game, at least on the server we’re playing on. I have yet to see people acting like moron’s jumping up and down on your corpse after they kill you, using emotes to taunt or insult you, etc. At least that was until the other night when it was late and I decided to hop over to Aphaea and run a couple of scenarios before calling it a night.

I had the Phoenix Gate scenario pop which is the first in quite awhile so I decided to take it. About 10 minutes into it I happen to notice a level 18 Sorceress running along the right side, by our spawn area, more than likely to try and sneak up behind to take our flag. So I head after her.

Few seconds after I engaged a level 14 Witch Elf appeared and assisted her. Well, needless to say that fight ended pretty fast but I did happen to bring the Sorceress close to death as seen below.

Killed by Enuleslet

What that picture doesn’t show is she decided to jump up and down on my corpse while she healed up. Not exactly a fight worth celebrating by such an action considering she almost died to my level 14 Witch Hunter and she had help. I noticed that after she healed up she continued on past our spawn point whereas the Witch Elf went back the other way. I had already hit my respawn button and only had a few seconds left so revenge is already running through my mind.

As soon as I respawn I hit my buff and go Incognito as I rush down from the respawn point, have her in sight and engage. Even though she almost did kill me, my appetite for revenge was satisfied. So I figured I would do a little celebrating of my own.

Revenge on Enuleslet

In the same fashion she did to me, I proceeded to jump up and down on her corpse and even threw in a laugh emote for good measures.

Celebration on Enuleslets Corpse

In a game where you can be killed just as fast as you kill another, such actions are rather immature and will only put a target on your head. Just kill and move onto the next I say. Oh, and as for the level 14 Witch Elf, I caught up to her not long after getting my revenge on Enuleslet. Since she didn’t partake in the victory dance I just moved on looking for my next target.

Is War good?

by Shals on October 5th, 2008

Some believe that war is good for the economy while others don’t, I’m not an economist so I really have no clue. What I do know though is that Warhammer Online is definitely good for the economy of Mythic and Electronic Arts. With a stellar launch and exceptionally exciting game play, this game is going to be huge and it’s just starting.

While some of the community here joined up with Vendetta and the remaining members decided to form up a more casual guild, Legends of Azazel, I think it’s safe to say we’re all have a grand time. Whether you choose to primarily play PvE the quests storyline and the awesome Tome of Knowledge should make those people very happy and for the PvP people, don’t even have to partake in PvE if they choose not to.

Now, how about some screenshots!

A member of Goon Squad attempting to flee

Here’s a member of Goon Squad trying to run away from me. Not sure why really, considering his health bar is running on empty! I’m actually surprised at how many people do try and run away, usually you’re not going to get away… I tried a few times too hehe.

Vendetta plus others defend Mandred\'s Hold

After Vendetta and some other people take Mandred’s Hold a rather large force of destruction attempts to take it back. We held them at the door for 10 (or 15) minutes while we were waiting for it to reset. Was an awesome attempt by destruction but only a few ever made it into the keep; at which point they were promptly dispatched. Our tanks defending the door never faltered.

Screen shot of a Tier 3 Keep

The keeps are really starting to get big and great looking. This is just the outer wall, can’t even see the keep inside from here but I thought it was a good screenshot showing a few destruction running in to try and setup defenses.

Three Jeff\'s

This one I just found amusing. Abban and I were playing our alts late one night and in a scenerio we happened across Jefff, Jeffff and Jefffff hehe. The two of us, a Warrior Priest and Witch Hunter, easily dispatched them of course!

And last but not least, has to be a brag hehe…

82k Damage Brag

Don’t normally see Shadow Warriors doing that kind of damage but every now and then we can make our presence known. The class still needs some lovin from the dev’s, which I’m sure will happen in one of the upcoming big patches, but we can cause… destruction. And yes, we did lose the scenerio but who cares, look at the experience I pulled in!
